Halo Procedure in San Mateo Handles Skin Damage From the Bottom Up

The term ‘trickle down’ is normally used in economics and politics, but the concept can also apply to long-term skincare. For example, when you are young, you may be using topical treatments to maintain smooth, glowing skin.a picture of a person before and after of good and bad skin

Products might include over-the-counter sunscreen, scrubs, lotions, and facial treatments. The results might be fine for youthful, elastic skin, but over time, the sun reaches the deeper layers of the dermis. As we age, the years of sunshine appear as dark spots, moles, and discolored patches on our skin. That’s when treating skin damage from the ‘top down’ isn’t so effective. The problem is deeper within the layers, where topical treatments can’t reach it.

That’s where a treatment like the Halo procedure is the next step. This fractional laser uses two wavelengths to target deeper skin layers. It’s so precise that the Halo tool avoids healthy skin and focuses on the damaged areas. The goal is to ‘recharge’ damaged skin, rejuvenating it through new collagen production. In the process, the freckling and deterioration rise to the top to be sloughed off. This is called Microscopic Epidermal Necrotic Debris or MENDs. The YouTube video from Hot & Flashy provides what the procedure and recovery look like. And this isn’t a one-size-fits-all technology. Two ablative and non-ablative lasers create wavelengths that can be adjusted to meet the needs of individual skin damage. The video is only an example, but if you are considering the Halo procedure, your personal experience might be a bit different.

Wondering if You Are Ready for a Halo Procedure near San Mateo?

The Halo procedure is great for mature skin addressing fine lines, sunspots, and discoloration of pigmentation. In addition, younger people can also benefit from a Halo procedure. The laser treatment also helps address issues such as enlarged pores, uneven skin texture, blemishes, and acne scars. These are problems a person can experience any time in their lives.

This laser treatment is focused on the face, neck, arms, hands, and legs. It is not recommended for the back (no worries, we have other laser tools for those concerns). The Halo procedure is designed for collagenogenesis, meaning it synthesizes the collagen in a person’s own body helping to bring back more youthful skin. And the results can last for a year or more depending upon the patient’s maintenance habits. We always highly recommend should follow post-procedure care and recommendations for grooming and sun exposure.

The Halo procedure itself can last from twenty minutes to an hour depending on the areas that needs treatment. We do recommend that patients prepare for the recovery process, even if it is considered a short period it can be intense for the first forty-eight hours. Normally, patients see results within seven days of treatment. Everyone is encouraged to reach out to our clinic for a consultation to determine which facial laser treatment is best for their skin issues.
