Many people judge their appearance in the mirror and zero in on normal imperfections. Maybe a woman is tweezing a random chin whisker and is perturbed by the lines around her mouth. Or a man could be frustrated with a sagging chin as he shaves.a client getting therapy for skin care issues at our clinics on the Peninsula

Sometimes, we can pick ourselves apart before even having that first cup of coffee in the morning! That negative mindset can impact how we deal with the rest of the day. It can dictate how we choose to present ourselves at a conference and even the approach we take when collaborating with others at work. It can impact our social life as well. People who feel as if they are not approachable might give up on trying to engage.

The one thing that worries someone about their appearance can restrict them from giving their best. A simple ULTherapy treatment in a San Mateo clinic can help change someone’s mindset. Human beings are diverse in bodies, faces, and backgrounds. Having a positive self-image and accepting one’s body is essential to their happiness. And todays movements about body positivity are great. But if there are one or two things that really bother someone about their appearance, it’s okay to address that, too.

If a facelift seems like too much, UL Therapy is a great non-invasive alternative

ULTherapy treatments can help lift and tighten problem areas and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. They are “non-invasive,” meaning they don’t require the same traditional surgical processes, such as scalpels and stitches. No general anesthesia is used so patients can remain comfortable and awake during the procedure. This is a terrific option for those nervous about going “under the knife” for a traditional facelift. And there are no surprises as our clinic staff walks the patient through every step. The treatment begins with a numbing solution on the face. Once the solution is working, the UL therapy tool is used. This tool can be calibrated to impact various levels of the skin. It penetrates past the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous levels of the skin, going right to the SMAS (superficial muscular aponeurotic system). The epidermis and dermis are the layers that will tighten up with the UL tool. At the same time, the subcutaneous layer is stimulated to produce new collagen. Here is a short video to show how a standard UL Therapy treatment works.

The procedure is typically expected to take thirty to sixty minutes. Of course, it depends on the individual’s skin and the area being treated. Aftercare is easy too. Most patients experience minimal swelling for three to five days. Afterward, patients can go about their regular schedule if they avoid the sun. They must also prevent retin-A, retinoids, or vitamin C and Vitamin A products. The results are not going to be instantaneous. If you look in the mirror every morning and inspect your skin, the results will become more noticeable over time. Typically, it takes around 30 days for new collagen to grow and for patients to begin to see results. Results can last up to eighteen months.
